Pat earned his Bachelor of Arts in Education from Western Washington University in 1981 and taught Physical Education for bulk of his 42 years in education. He earned at Masters of education in Athletic Administration from Seattle Pacific University in 1986 followed by Principal’s certification in 1988. He has been an athletic director for 38 years.
Pat has been head coach at the high school level in baseball, boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball as well as the head coach in both boys and girls golf. His 2013 boys’ golf team won the 4A state title. He has also coached the following sports as an assistant at the high school level; baseball, basketball, football, golf, and track. Pat has been selected KingCo coach of the year in basketball and golf on multiple occasions.
Pat has applied many of the principles that are the heart of Proactive Coaching philosophies which he learned while teaching and coaching with Bruce Brown. His most recent basketball team attended one of Proactive Coaching Captains and Coaches workshop which he credits for a highly successful season cumulated in a trip to the quarter finals of the Washington State 4A basketball tournament. He has been on the Proactive Coaching team since 2010 and continues to specialize in speaking to athletes, coaches and parents. Pat lives in Sammamish, WA and to married to Susan his wife of 42 years and together they have three children; Alli, Stuart, and Maddie.
Pat recently retired after 42 years in public schools serving as a teacher, athletic director, and school administrator. He continues to stay active in coaching and looks forward to being able to commit the time to become more active with Proactive Coaching!
