Darin Boysen

Darin Boysen was appointed as the Nebraska Coaches Association (NCA) Executive Director in the spring of 2011.  The NCA serves approximately 4,500 coaches across the state of Nebraska in all sports.  Before his arrival at the NCA, he served as an Assistant Director for the Nebraska School Activities Association for five years. Nationally, he served on the NFHS national rules committees for the sport of wrestling and the Spirit of Sport Award.

Coach Boysen was a social studies teacher and coach at North Bend Central High School (NE) for 15 years.  While at North Bend, he coached several sports including football, wrestling, and boys’ golf.  Darin began his teaching and coaching career in Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1990.

Mr. Boysen is currently serving on the executive committee of the National Organization of Coaches Association Directors as Vice President (2025) and President (2026).  He has also served as an executive committee board member of the National High School Athletic Coaches Association.  At the state level, he is a Board of Director for the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame Foundation while also serving on their selection committee.  

Boysen earned his bachelor’s degree at Midland University (NE) in 1990 and a master’s degree from Doane University (NE) in 1996. 

Darin’s wife Tina, a 23-year elementary teacher, joined the NCA staff full-time in May 2022 as the Coordinator of Events and Programs.  Darin and Tina have two daughters: Jordan - a NICU nurse at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, NE and Hailey – completing her degree in Special Education at Doane University in the Spring of 2025. 

Darin’s passion is serving coaches and the profession of coaching. He travels the state and nation advocating that education-based athletics and activities are unique and desperately needed in our society today. He joined the Proactive Coaching team of speakers in the Fall of 2024, specializing in The Role of Parents in Athletics presentation.
